This film was made by Kyletown Productions, Allspark Pictures, Hasbro Studios, and distributed by Columbia Pictures. This film was scheduled to be release on July 29, 2022 in 3D and RealD 3D, also in IMAX 3D internationally. It was first going to release on June 3, 2016, but it was pushed to June 23, 2016. But on June 15, 2016, due to Santiagos changes and filming the song called Down on Grandpas Farm in the short film Imagine That, the film pushed back to August 6, 2016. But on August 6, 2016, Santiago feels sick and the sleepover got cancelled, the films release date moved yet again to November 23, 2016 to allow more time for the production and searching for the cast. On October 24, 2016, it was announced that after the filming ended and Santiago will make two DVD copies of the film, Kyle will send his DVD copy of the film to Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California so they can do the post-production. On the same day, Kyle will come up with his own comedy to put in the films script. On October 25, 2016, the films release date moved to August 18, 2017 to allow more time for the production. On February 11, 2017, it was moved yet again to December 1, 2017 due to Santiago on his week vacation to Salt Lake City in Utah. On June 20, 2018, the release date was moved to December 25, 2020.
